Ciacci Piccolomini d’Aragona Winery
About us
Ciacci Piccolomini d’Aragona estate’s origins go back to the 17th century. In 1985, in the absence of direct successors of the family, the property was inherited by Giuseppe Bianchini whose son and daughter, Paolo and Lucia, now manage the estate. The property is located on the southwest side of Montalcino. It covers a vast area of roughly 425 acres encircled by vineyards, olive groves, woods, arable and pasture lands.
The vineyards are located on the south, south-west side of Montalcino at around 300mts above the sea level. The stony slopes near the Orcia river benefit from a particularly mild microclimate and vines grow in ideal climatic conditions. Due to this strategic position the Pianrosso vineyard represent the best expression of the estate in terms of quality and terroir. Therefore Ciacci selects the best grapes for Brunello Pianrosso and Brunello Riserva Vigna Pianrosso from this single vineyard.
