A Taste of Italy will take part at the 2017 Borsa Vini tasting on Tuesday 17th January, 2017 at the Conrad Hotel, Earlsfort Terrace, Dublin 2. Trade and press will be invited to taste a diverse range of Italian wines from several wine and spirits producers from the South of Italy.
Special features of the event include a masterclass hosted by John Wilson, wine writer for the Irish Times, author, and editor of Ireland’s best-selling wine book. Attendees will be talked through and taste a range of wines from the regions showcased on the day: Campania, Calabria, Puglia, and Sicilia.
Figures to December 2015 show that sales of Italian wine continue to increase their market share in Ireland. The enormous success of Italian wines styles such as Pinot Grigio and Prosecco has helped to create greater awareness with the Irish consumer for a whole range of Italian wine styles. Sales of Italian wines have increased from 438,000 cases (5.5%) in 2008 to 613,679 (11.6%) of the Irish market in 2015. (Source IWA Sept 2016).
We’ll see you there guys!
